The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported last week that industrial output fell 1% in August after rising 1.1% in July, and 6.4% in May-July.
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics trend figures indicate that industrial output in June-August rose by an annualized 8.1%, after rising by more than 11.4% in the preceding quarter.
The CBS also noted that industrial output in January-August 2006 rose by an annualized 7.4%, over the corresponding period in 2005.
The Central Bureau of Statistics also reported that the number of work hours of industrial employees rose in August by 0.6%, after falling 1.2% in July.
The number of industrial employees rose in June-August by an annualized 1.2%.
However, the number of industrial work hours fell by an annualized 1.6%.
