The delegation, headed by Peru’s Minister of Production David Lemor will be guests of the Manufacturers Association and Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, consists of 20 Peruvian businesspeople and representatives of economic organizations.
The visit follows a visit of an Israeli business delegation visit to Peru in August 2005 at the personal invitation of Peru’s President Alejandro Toledo.
Arzi noted that closer ties could be expected between Israel and Peru following the visit. He added that the Peruvian business delegation would hold a seminar and individual meetings with Israeli businesspeople. He also noted that Israel’s industrial exports to Peru in 2005 rose by 58% to $24 million. Most of the growth was due to a 10% increase in exports of machinery, to $10 million.
