The proposed Route will be the airline's First-Ever Service to the Middle East, makes the 21st trans-Atlantic Tel Aviv destination served from its Philadelphia hub.
At more than 5,700 miles, the Tel Aviv flight will be the longest nonstop segment in the US Airways network made possible by the delivery of new, longer-range A330-200 aircraft set for delivery in spring 2009.
The airline is waiting for approval from the Israel Civil Aviation Authority and the US Federal Aviation Authority.
US Airways is the fifth largest domestic airline inthe USA. US Airways is a member of the Star Alliance network, which offers customers 18,000 daily flights to 965 destinations in 162 countries worldwide.
