Korean Air announced last Thursday a new direct route of flights to Tel Aviv which will begin operating to and from the South Korean capital of Seoul
Korean Air, South Korea's largest carrier, will fly weekly between Seoul and Tel Aviv. According to flight schedule published by the airline on its web site, Korean Air planned to use the Boeing 747-400 Combi, which allows for both passenger and cargo transport.
Tourism Ministry said in a statement that "It is hoped that these flights, which will significantly increase the number of direct flights from East Asia and tourists from Korea, will pave the way for other Asian airlines to operate flights to Israel,”.
Korean Air, with a fleet of 126 aircraft, is one of the world's top 20 airlines, and operates almost 400 passenger flights per day to 115 cities in 38 countries. It is a founding member of SkyTeam, the global airlines alliance - partnering Aeroflot, AeroMexico, Air France, Alitalia, China Southern Airlines, CSA Czech Airlines, Continental Airlines, Delta Air Lines, KLM and Northwest Airlines to provide customers with extensive worldwide destinations, flights and services.
