The company will operate two weekly charter flights from Tel Aviv to Moscow, beginning in June
Israir Airlines and Tourism Ltd. announced last week it would inaugurate two weekly charter flights from Tel Aviv to Moscow, beginning in June, at an initial price of US$432 round trip.
The airline said it will use its Airbus 320s on Mondays and Fridays. In a press release issued by the company it noted that it anticipated an increase in Russian tourists arriving in Israel and in Israeli tourists visitingRussia once tourist visas are no longer required.
Israir's CEO, Guy Rosen, said that Israir is due to receive designated carrier status on the Tel Aviv-Moscow route and formal permission to operate regular flights between Tel Aviv and Moscow, following a request the company submitted to the Transportation Ministry in January.
Israir expects a high demand for this route, which is highly attractive for the Russian borne Israelis, Israeli passengers, businesspeople, and Russian tourists to Israel.
