Moroccan Minister for Equipment and Transport, Karim Ghellab met last week Meir Sheetrit Israel's Transportation Minister to discuss bilateral air service agreement.
The meeting took place during a conference of transportation ministers for the Mediterranean area at Marrakesh, Morocco.
The two ministers agreed to set up special working teams to study ways and means for the promotion of air services between the two countries.
Shitreet emphasized the potential of a bilateral air service agreement and noted that thousands of Israelis fly to Morocco every year via Italy and France.
Morocco was the second Arab country to set up open diplomatic relations with Israel. In October 2000, shortly after hostilities broke out with the Palestinians, Morocco cut off ties and since, normal diplomatic ties never returned.
