The workers committee threatened to intensify disruptions during the airline's summer peak season which will put El Al's management under great pressure
El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. employees demonstrated last week protesting what they called management's refusal to extend their collective agreement for another year.
El Al employees also claim that they have not been paid the promised pay rise and that management had notified them that it would unilaterally publish a streamlining plan that includes 500 layoffs.
Hundreds of El Al's 3,000 employees attended the protest which was held outside the airlines management's offices.
Despite the demonstration, the workers' committee instructed all workers to work as usual. There were no disruptions in El Al's flight schedule.
The workers committee said following the demonstration that it views last week's protest as a "warning shot”.
The committee threatened to intensify disruptions during the airline's summer peak season which will undoubtedly put El Al's management under great pressure.
