According to Yavor Israeli national carrier El Al reached second place in a European pilots' union Q2 survey of takeoff and landing punctuality. The survey found that 83% of El Al flights took off on time without delays. Yavor noted that El Al's operational takeoff and landing punctuality was higher compared some US airlines who reached much lower performance.
 
Delta Airlines with 79.6% takeoff and landing punctuality, American Airlines 76.5%, United Airlines 73.7% and Continental 71.5%.
 
Among the European airlines the most punctuated airline was Czech airline CSA, with an 87.5% punctuality rate. Third place was taken by Austrian Airlines with 81.8%.
 
Mr. David Maymon, VP customer service noted that El Al was proud to be ranked fifth in lost luggage, misplacing just nine of 1,000 suitcases.
 
He said that the European Cockpit Association reviewed seventeen European airlines and ranked El Al fifth ahead of Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa and KLM.

Turkish airlines was ranked first with 3.4 of 1,000 suitcases, Tarom in the second place with 7.5, Swiss in the third place with 8.4 and Malev with 8.5 pieces.
