Mr. Yoav Levi, El Al deputy director General for commerce said last week that the company decided to charter the plane in order to satisfy increasing demand for transatlantic flights.
Last December the company added two weekly flights on Sunday and Thursday to the USA. The company plans to increase frequencies during the summer and reach 40 weekly trans - Atlantic flights.
The new 434 seats aircraft was chartered from Brown AircraftBatcock. The aircraft will begin operation as of March 2005 until September 2006.
El Al's fleet numbers 34 aircraft, 29 of which are owned by the company and five are chartered.
