Wizz Air has issued an official update announcing a temporary suspension of all its flights to and from Ben Gurion International Airport. The company's decision comes against the backdrop of the recent security escalation in the region and relevant situational updates.

According to the company's announcement, the suspension of operations is effective immediately for Monday and Tuesday (June 8 and 9). As of now, Wizz Air plans to resume its flight schedule to Israel on Wednesday, June 10, but emphasizes that the move is subject to developments on the ground and a reassessment of the risk level.

The company's management stated that the safety and security of passengers and crew members are at the top of its operational priorities. It was also noted that company representatives continue to closely monitor the evolving situation, while maintaining continuous contact and full coordination with the relevant aviation and security authorities.

The suspension of operations by Wizz Air—one of the key players in aircraft traffic volume at Ben Gurion Airport—is expected to create localized pressure on belly cargo capacity on routes to major European destinations in the coming days, requiring preparation with alternative carriers.
