Dina Ben Tal Gennensia, who has served as the CEO of El Al for the past three and a half years and held various senior management roles in the company for about two decades, has announced to the Chairman of the Board her intention to step down from her role by December 31, 2025. Ben Tal Gennensia emphasized that given the complexity and sensitivity of El Al, she wants to allow a broad search process and orderly overlap, hence she chose to announce her intentions now.
Since her appointment at the height of the Corona crisis, Ben Tal Gennensia has led a process to regulate labor relations through new agreements that have made El Al a flexible company with high profitability, signed strategic procurement agreements for the purchase of advanced aircraft, and expanded the airline network while consistently improving the customer experience.
In addition, more than two years ago, Ben Tal Gennensia formulated and launched a comprehensive strategic plan that combines business development and new growth engines - a plan that already contributes to the profitability and financial resilience of the company. With the outbreak of the war on October 7, 2023, she navigated El Al in a national emergency situation, maintained air continuity to Israel, and balanced national responsibility with the obligations of a public company.
El Al's CEO, Dina Ben Tal Gennensia, said: 'After two full decades of action and pride in El Al, and especially intensive three and a half years as CEO, I feel it is time to start a new chapter. I deeply thank the people of El Al and the management team for their exceptional professionalism and dedication. In complex and difficult times, they gave their all for the benefit of the customers and the country. A big thank you also to the shareholders, the board, the customers, and our business partners in Israel and around the world who accompanied us on the journey. Together we have revolutionized El Al, and I am confident that the company will continue to soar to new heights.'
El Al's Chairman of the Board, Amikam Ben Zvi, said: 'Dina led El Al during a challenging and unprecedented period for the aviation industry and the Israeli economy. Under her management, the company's financial results significantly improved, the capital structure was strengthened, important fleet deals were signed, the global spread was expanded, and labor relations entered a new era. The board appreciates her and values her willingness to ensure a smooth transition at the required pace.'
