Philip Morris Ltd., the Israeli representative of the international consortium (PMI), has chosen Overseas Commerce to provide storage and collection services in Israel.
Overseas Commerce recently won a tender that includes exclusive and full management of container unloading processes, sorting, collection, storage, and inventory management, while adhering to strict standards of security, inventory management, controls, meeting KPI targets, and ensuring business continuity, in accordance with the stringent requirements of the international company.
It was also reported that the service is performed from two main sites - one in the north and the other in the center of the country - a move that allows a significant improvement in operational efficiency, higher availability, and ensuring business continuity even under challenging conditions, a capability that has proven significant for the logistics operations of Philip Morris in Israel. According to the company's announcement, the division of activity between two sites ensures operational stability even in emergency situations, as experienced over the past year and a half.
It should be noted that Philip Morris International (PMI) is a leading international company in the tobacco industry, actively working to promote a smoke-free future. Since 2008, the company has invested over $14 billion in the development, scientific foundation, and marketing of innovative smoke-free products, for smokers who would otherwise continue to smoke, with the aim of completely stopping the sale of cigarettes. The company has been active in Israel for over a decade and was established in 2011. The company operates offices and distribution centers across the country.
Shai Hilsberg, COO at Overseas Commerce, commented on winning the tender: "We are proud of the trust placed in us and are committed to providing Philip Morris with the most professional and efficient service. Winning the tender is the result of hard work and a deep understanding of the unique needs of the customer, especially in terms of compliance with international standards and ensuring business continuity, even under challenging conditions."
According to Hilsberg, this collaboration demonstrates Overseas Commerce's ability to provide advanced and customized logistics solutions to its customers, while adhering to the highest standards in the international market.
"This is a significant step for the company, which strengthens its position as a leading logistics provider in the Israeli market," he concluded.
