Zim Integrated Shipping Services announced last week that a decision had been taken to add the port of Ashdod to the EMX– East Med Express service.
In a statement issued by the company it noted that the new port rotation will improve the service and that the call at Ashdod will not supplement but will be in addition to its Haifa call.
The new service will commence with the sailing of "Zim Shekou" voy. 8 which is scheduled to sail from Pusan on June 2 and arrive at Ashdod on June 29.
Zim noted, however, that exports containers to Far East ports will continue to be loaded from the port of Haifa only and exports to Black Sea ports will be from both Ashdod and Haifa.
The new port rotation will be: Pusan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Port kelang, Colombo,Nhava Seheva, Haifa, Ashdod, Izmit, Novorossiysk, Constantza, Mardas (Istanbul), Haifa, Nhava Sheva, Colombo, Port Kelang, Shekou.
