Introduces improved service to Venezuela and its own dedicated feeder on the River Plate.
As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance its services, ZIM announced the following improvements to its services in South America:
ZIM South America Express Service (SAX) now calls Puerto Cabello in Venezuela directly after Kingston, Jamaica, as its second port on its southbound voyage in order to better serve cargoes bound to Venezuela. The new ZIM SAX port rotation is now as follows: Kingston (JM) - Puerto Cabello (VE) – Vitoria (BR) - Rio Grande (BR) - Navegantes (BR)- Santos (BR)- Fortaleza (BR) - La Guaira (VE) – Kingston (JM).
This change enhances the connection between Zim Global lines and ZIM Intra-Caribbean services into Venezuela.
Kingston, Jamaica, is a hub port for ZIM, where the ZIM SAX service connects with the ZIM ZCS tri-continental service, with the ZIM AGX Asia-Gulf service and with the ZIM NCX North Europe service, as well as with several ZIM intra-Caribbean and Central American regional services.
ZIM’s River Plate Express (RPX) now offers a ZIM dedicated weekly feeder vessel to better serve exporters and importers from and to Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil.
The m/v Pampero, with a 512 TEU capacity, will be calling Rio Grande, Brazil, every Friday, Montevideo, Uruguay, every Monday, and Buenos Aires, Argentina, every Wednesday, then again Rio Grande where it connects with the ZIM SAX service. The first calls of this new connecting service are as follows: First call in Montevideo: April 21, first call in Buenos Aires: April 23, first call in Rio Grande: April 25.
ZIM operates 16 services in the Caribbean, Central and South American regions, connecting them to the main world markets, including Asia, Europe, Africa and North America. ZIM global shipping services offer a diverse range of equipment, including a modern fleet of refrigerated containers to serve the strong refrigerated trades of the Caribbean Basin, Central and South American regions.
