At the 'Safe Harbor' conference, a joint initiative of Bayport (SIPG) and Holistic EHS, senior figures in Israel's port industry convened with representatives from regulatory and military bodies to discuss knowledge sharing for improving safety and environmental quality.

The conference, held yesterday, is the first of its kind in Israel to focus specifically on safety and environmental quality in seaports. The conference hosted senior representatives from all Israeli ports, the Navy, the Israel Ports Company (IPC), and the Shipping and Ports Authority (SPA), aiming to create a shared platform for knowledge sharing and promoting a culture of safety and sustainability in the industry.

During the conference, key topics were presented by leading speakers, including an Admiral from the IDF who presented lessons from the 'Iron Swords' war, Mirav Gonen from SPA who presented an overview of environmental regulation, Yoav Margalit and Gregory Tzizikov from Haifa Port Company who presented a safety event analysis, Shai Mazor, CEO of H.O.P Israel, who presented the importance of the human factor, Itzik Shemar from IPC who presented a picture of the safety situation in the industry, and Itzik Ben Shlosh from Holistic EHS who presented the topic of innovation in ports.

In addition to the in-depth discussions, the participants enjoyed a professional tour of Bayport, which gave them an opportunity to be impressed by the advanced infrastructure and the practices implemented there in the fields of safety and environment.

The SIPG Bayport Company, which initiated the conference, stated that 'The port industry, which is a major growth engine for the Israeli economy, is characterized by dynamic and complex activity that inherently poses unique challenges in the fields of safety and environment. Recognizing the need for cooperation in dealing with these challenges, Bayport initiated the conference. The broad participation of representatives from all Israeli ports and senior regulatory bodies attests to the great importance that the industry attaches to these issues and to the shared desire to promote cooperation.'
