Dr. Ron Malka has completed his tenure as Chairman of the Board of Directors of Haifa Port Company, a position he was appointed to two years ago by the Adani Group. According to information received by PORT2PORT, Malka is expected to serve as President of the Adani Group in Israel, focusing on promoting areas not related to Haifa Port - including infrastructure investments, energy, and civilian trade.
No official response was given by Haifa Port Company, but a source close to the port confirmed that the move is coordinated with the global group management and is consensual. Dr. Malka's replacement has not yet been appointed, but it is estimated that the matter is under advanced discussion.
Dr. Malka's appointment as President of the Adani Group in Israel, especially in areas not related to the port, may indicate the group's intention to expand its investments in the Israeli economy. Over the past year, Adani has explored possible collaborations in renewable energy, transportation infrastructure, and digital solutions - as part of its global strategy to become a leading player in key markets outside India. Senior group officials have previously emphasized that the acquisition of Haifa Port is a "first step in a long-term partnership with the State of Israel".
Malka, former CEO of the Ministry of Economy and Israel's ambassador to India, is considered one of the central figures who accompanied the port's transition to private hands and the transfer of ownership to the Adani Group and its local partner, Gadot. During his tenure as chairman, significant operational and structural changes were made, and there was an increase in activity volumes and the entry of new international customers.
