The service will offer two weekly direct sailings from the port of Ashdod to Istanbul
Mediterranean Shipping Company S.A. (MSC) announced last week the upgrading its Black Sea String 1 (BLS1( service.
According to the company's statement, the Black Sea String 1 service will offer faster service with a weekly fixed day call at Black Sea ports.
The statement noted that the service will offer two weekly direct sailings from the port of Ashdod to Istanbul. Port rotation will be: Istanbul – Ashdod – Istanbul – Novorossiysk.
The upgraded service will utilize two container vessels: the TEU1388 "MSC Edith&" & the TEU1388 "MSC Mia Summer", which will offer a transit time of three sailing days between the port of Ashdod & Istanbul calling on Monday at Istanbul and on Thursday at Ashdod.
The company noted that the service will offer on carriage service to the Black Sea ports of Poti, Batumi, Varna, Odessa, Ilyichevsk.
The upgraded service will supplement MSC's BLS2 which calls at Istanbul – Gebze – Izmir – Ashdod – Haifa.
