In line with MSC's strategic objective to continue to improve services, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company announced the introduction of a direct call in Haifa, Israel with the Golden Gate Service (GGS) as from MSC Anchorage sailing Ningbo on October 17th 2012 and the maiden call in Haifa on November 9th, 2012.
Israeli sources noted that MSC's strategic decision should have a major impact on the entire Israeli shipping sector.
As from October, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company will serve Israel directly from Asia, with competitive transit times of 21 days from Shanghai, 17 days from Yantian and 13 days from Singapore.
This new call will also provide the short transit time from Israel to USA East Coast with only 11 days to New York.
Additionally, this will provide a unique coverage and transit time from USA to Israel on the eastbound service, with Haifa being called as exclusive port in the Mediterranean.
All exports from Haifa, Israel to all destinations offered by MSC on the east side of Suez, including but not limited to, India sub-Continent, Australia and New Zealand will also enjoy greatly improved transit times.
The port rotation of the Golden Gate Service is detailed as follows: Ningbo, Shanghai, Chiwan, Yantian, Singapore, Haifa, New York, Norfolk, Baltimore, Savannah, Charleston, Freeport, Norfolk, Haifa, Colombo, Singapore, Chiwan, Hong Kong, Ningbo.
