Israel ports development & assets company Ltd. (IPC) has been granted an observer status at ESPO meeting thus becoming the first non-European port company to join the organization.
IPC acceptance to the organization was declared during ESPO conference held on 29 and 30 May in Hamburg, Germany. ESPO represents the seaports of the Member States of the European Union and has observer members from several other European countries. ESPO membership consists of the port authorities, port administrations and port associations of the seaports of the European Union.
The conference programme included an international comparison of port authority strategies as well as workshop sessions on port property management, stakeholder relations and port performance.
The IPC's Chairman, Major Gen. (Res.) Yiftach Ron-Tal who attended the conference said that by joining the organization Israel's Port Company can benefit from the vast knowledge and experience gained by its European counterparts.
