The Gold Bond Group participated in the first pilot of loading containers directly from Bay Port onto train carriages. The pilot was conducted in collaboration with ZIM Shipping Company, Israel Railways, and Bay Port, marking another significant step towards promoting advanced transport infrastructure in Israel and the railway connection of the country's ports and endpoints. It should be noted that Bay Port has a railway infrastructure that allows the loading and unloading of about 300 TEU simultaneously.
The pilot integrates direct loading of cargo from the ship's deck to the train carriages, thereby optimizing turnaround times, reducing the number of trucks on the roads, and increasing connectivity between the ports and the national railway network. Gold Bond is also the railway agent that will operate the loading and owns a railway terminal in Ashdod that receives the loaded carriages.
Amos Day, CEO of the Gold Bond Group, stated: 'We see this move as an important step in improving the range of services for our customers and in promoting sustainable green transportation. Gold Bond is committed to continuing to lead innovative solutions that combine efficiency, sustainability, and a broad systemic vision for the benefit of our customers and the entire economy.'
