According to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor foreign trade administration the annual purchasing budget of the UN is US$4 billion and Israeli companies have good chances to supply UN needs
Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor foreign trade administration in co-operation with Israel Export and International Cooperation institute initiated a joint seminar with representatives of the UN to present Israel's production capabilities aiming to put Israel on the map for UN worldwide purchasing requirements.
According to statement issued by the Israel Export and International Cooperation institute four UN institutions will be represented in the joint seminar:
UNOG – UN office in Geneva acting as the main purchasing arm of the organization.
UNHCR - United Nations Refugees Agency, WHO world health organization and UNOPS – United Nations Office for Project Services.
According to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor foreign trade administration the annual purchasing budget of the UN is US$4 billion and Israeli companies have good chances to supply UN needs.
The foreign trade administration noted that the UN spends the bulk of the budget to purchase equipment to civilians in conflict areas and areas which suffered large scale natural disasters. Israel can provide the UN with water purification equipment, tents, mobile kitchens, communication equipment, medicines & medical equipment.
