Mr. Ehud Ulmert Minister for Industry, Trade & Employment advised the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce ( FICC ) that a decision had been taken to allow more representatives from the Federation to be involved in the decision making process of the institute.
The minister declared his decision during a meeting held by the Chamber and informed the participants that he is about to call the general assembly of the standard institute to pass a resolution providing the chamber a more active role in the institute.
Mr. Uriel Lynn president of FICC added that the decision is an historic one and will enable the opening of the local market to outside competition.
Mr. Lynn emphasized that the FICC through it’s representatives at the institute will do their best to reduce the costs involved in gaining the standard certification. He added that the present costing and testing policy is not only expensive but also creating long delays to the importing community.
