Manufacturers Association: Daylight Saving Time will save the economy NIS 80 million

Daylight saving time, also called “summer time,” is the practice of advancing clocks forward by one hour in the spring to gain additional daylight during the early evening.
 
According to Mr. Moshe Cohen, Daylight Saving Time is estimated to benefit the economy by some NIS 80 million. According to Moshe Cohen, the Chairman of the Energy Commission at the Manufacturers Association, the DST will slash energy reliance by NIS 40m., as well as increase the production of workers and reduce the number of road accidents.
 
The Israeli parliament had established that daylight savings time begins every year on the Friday before April 2 and ends on the Saturday night between the Jewish New Year and Yom Kippur.
