The Austrian furniture and design chain will open open its first store in Israel on September 6, just before the Jewish New Year
Austrian furniture and design chain Kika announced last week that it will open its first store in Israel on September 6, just before the Jewish New Year. The store which will open in the Netanya industrial zone, will have 18,000 square meters gross space on four floors, including more than 13,000 square meters of gross retail space.
The store will offer kitchen and living room furniture, bedrooms and bathrooms, baby rooms and toys, as well as household appliances, mattresses, home textile, cooking appliances and wallpaper.
The store will also include a children's playground and two coffee shops. Kika runs at present 32 similar furniture stores in Austria, six in Hungary, six in the Czech Republic, two in Slovakia, two in Croatia, one in Romania and one in Serbia.
In a statement issued by the company it noted that a logistics center is being set up at Kfar Aviv, near Ashdod, at an investment of NIS 10 million ($ 3 milion). The logistics center will serve the first store in Netanya and offer deliveries to customers’ homes.
Another Kika store will be opened in Haifa later on.The chain is currently recruiting 200 workers for its first store.
