Economists believe that the stability in the index derives mainly from the good state of the labor market, which comes as a surprise every time.
Bank Hapoalim’s and TNS Teleseker’s Israeli Consumer Confidence Index rose by 0.6 point in February to a level of 130.6 (April 2002=100).
The Present Situation index fell by 2.0 points and the Expectations Index was up by 2.2 points. The Consumer Confidence Index has been stable at a relatively high level for some considerable time.

The Israeli Consumer Confidence Index is collected from a representative survey of 1,000 persons conducted by TNS Teleseker. The international research firm TNS conducts Consumer Confidence surveys in 18 countries. Consumer Confidence Indices are leading indicators that can predict the public’s consumption behavior.
