The agreement focuses on private sector industrial research and development in order to promote joint industrial research and development projects
Oregon governor's office issued a press release last week noting that Gov. Ted Kulongoski signed a business development agreement with the state of Israel.
The press release noted that the "Memorandum of Cooperation" is intended to develop and strengthen economic, industrial, technological and commercial cooperation between Oregon and Israel.
The agreement focuses on private sector industrial research and development. Its goal is to promote joint industrial research and development projects.
“There is mutual interest in making progress in the fields of clean technology, and research and development, and I believe by cooperating in this effort, we can enhance our competitiveness in these areas to create jobs and new economic opportunities for our citizens,” Kulongoski said.
