During the visit a seminar will be held by the Israeli export institute on doing business in India
Ashwani Kumar, India’s Minister of State for Industries, will visit Israel this week to discuss ways of advancing talks on forming a free trade zone between the two countries.
Kumar comes to Israel at the invitation of Eli Yishai, the Israeli Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor. The two will meet August 6 to discuss the free trade proposal, which according to Israel, is of economic benefit to both countries.
During the visit a seminar will be held by the Israeli export institute on doing business in India.
During his trip, Kumar will visit the Israel Diamond Exchange and industry park in Jerusalem.
Bilateral trade in the first six months of 2007 was $1.6 billion. Israeli export totaled US$753 million (up by 8.6%) and import US$ 833 million (down 4.4%), compared to the parallel period last year.
