The Standards Institution of Israel reported that a mutual recognition agreement had been signed with UL (Underwriters Laboratories).

UL is a safety consulting and certification company headquartered in Northbrook, Illinois. It has participated in the safety analysis of many of the last century's new technologies, most notably the public adoption of electricity and the drafting of safety standards for electrical devices and components. The unique mutual recognition agreement signed by The Standards Institution of Israel and UL means that UL recognizes tests and reports of SII.

Mr. Dany Goldshtein director general of the SII noted that the mutual recognition agreement was granted following a thorough inspection of the proficiency of SII and its capability to fulfill the task at the level required by UL. Goldshtein added that "This agreement shortens the procedures for UL exporters and saves time and resources".

UL provides safety-related certification, validation, testing, inspection, auditing, advising and training services to a wide range of clients, including manufacturers, retailers, policymakers, regulators, service companies, and consumers.

The company has been providing the knowledge and expertise to help customers navigate growing complexities across the supply chain from compliance and regulatory issues to trade challenges and market access.
