Delegation heads signed a protocol affirming their intentions to promote and develop economic, commercial and tourist relations
The fifth joint meeting of the Intergovernmental Ukrainian-Israeli Committee on trade and economic cooperation convened last week at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Jerusalem.
Israel’s Minister of Tourism, Stas Misezhnikov, headed the Israeli delegation, and Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Tikhonov headed the Ukrainian delegation.
Delegates from ten government ministries and economic organizations from Israel took part in the meeting.
The Ukrainian delegation included five deputy ministers and other government officials. At the meeting, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of health, agriculture, tourism, the environmentand space. The parties discussed a draft agreement on the promotion and reciprocal protection of investments.
The Ukrainian side expressed interest in inviting Israel security companies to take part in the preparations for the European soccer championship, EURO 2012, which will be held in Ukraine.
At the end of the meeting, the delegation heads signed a protocol affirming their intentions to continue to promote and develop economic, commercial and tourist relations between the two states.
