Mr. Amir Shani chairman of the Israeli umbrella organization of forwarders and customs brokers called upon its members to take all necessary steps for the forthcoming labor dispute declared by the customs workers union and due to begin on September 1st .
In a message to members Mr. Shani emphasized that this year the Jewish high holidays fall at the middle of September hence in order to avoid customs clearing bottlenecks, brokers must do their best to clear as much cargo as possible before the end of August.
"We cannot tell what will be the outcome of the talks now being held by the parties and how successful the parties will be to reach an agreed formula, therefore importers should be notified of the forthcoming strike and be advised to customs clear as much cargo as possible" Shani said.
