An analysis of the export services made by the economic department of the FICC clearly indicate that transportation services were up by 15% to $3.7 billion and tourism services were up by 19% to $2.8 billion, and other services were up 9% to $10.3 billion.
Lynn noted that transportation services covered the handling of exported goods as well as the handling of drop shipments – cargo moving between third countries foreign ports.
The transportation services also include travel fees and port services which according to the analysis amounted to 22% of all services exports in 2005.
The analysis also show that tourism services exports increased by 19% ($461 million) and accounted for 17% of all services exports.
