The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported last week that export of services totaled US$2.1 billion in April 2010, up 17.7% compared to March 2010, and export of business services, 69% of services exports, rose by 27.3% over the preceding month.
Revenue from export of transport services totaled US$252 million, down 5.7% compared to March 2010. revenue derived from moving goods between two foreign ports totaled US$ 190 million, down 1.6%.
Export of business services; computer software, research and development, communication, engineering services, advertizing and trade, 68% of services exports, rose by 27.3% over the preceding month. In March 2010 export of business services was down 16.8%.
Revenue from tourism services totaled $345 million in April, up 5.7% over March. Revenue from tourism in April was up 35.3% compared to April 2009.
Industrial output rose 9.9% in February-April, and rose by 4.9% excluding high-tech output. The number of manufacturing jobs rose by 3.4% and work-hours in manufacturing rose 2% over the same period.
