The Planning and Economics Division of the Tax Authority reports this morning that in September 2025, imports of 19,413 private vehicles were registered, compared to 21,697 in September 2024, a decrease of 10.5%. Commercial vehicle imports totaled 721 vehicles, compared to 767 in September 2024, a decrease of 6%. The import of passenger vehicles in September 2025 was likely still affected by the massive advance in December 2024, much larger than in previous years. Also, the number of working days in September 2025 was lower than in September 2024 due to the New Year.

From January to September 2025, vehicle imports totaled 156,510 vehicles, compared to 182,937 vehicles in the same period last year, a decrease of 14.4%. As mentioned above, there was a significant advance in December 2024, more than double the advance in December 2023.

Trend data indicate a decline in passenger vehicle imports since the beginning of 2025.

The total value of all imports in September 2025 amounted to $7.8 billion, almost unchanged from the value of imports in September 2024. Trend data indicate a moderate increase starting from 2024.
