Consumer Price Index up 0.2% in March

The Inflation to date has reached 0.7%, and over the past twelve months 4.3%. This is higher than the government's 1-3% target range for the annual rate of inflation
 
The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) announced last Friday that Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose by 0.2% in March to 102.5 points. According to the CBS.
 
The Inflation to date has reached 0.7%, and over the past twelve months 4.3%. This is higher than the government's 1-3% target range for the annual rate of inflation.
 
The March CPI was affected by price increases in the following categories:
 
Housing services (0.6%), car oils and petrol (2.5%), recreation (3.3%), meat, poultry and fish (0.5%).
 
The price increases were partially compensated by seasonal reductions in the prices of fruit, vegetables, clothing and footwear. Vegetable prices fell 7.6%, fresh fruit prices were down 4.2%, and clothing and footwear prices dropped by 2%.
