The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported last week that industrial output rose by an annualized 9.8% in December 2009-February 2010. (For all of 2009, production declined 5.9 percent compared with a 7.4 percent increase in 2008).
The CBS noted that industrial output, excluding high tech, rose by an annualized 13.1% over the same period.
Industrial output was 1.2% lower in February 2010 than in January 2010, but high-tech output was unchanged.
The number of jobs in industry rose by 3.1% in December-February, and the number of work-hours rose by 6.4%.
