Ashdod's customs investigation squad foiled last week an attempt to smuggle a consignment consisting thousands of Nike shoes.
In a statement issued by the customs it noted that the Nike Logo was well covered by plastic sheets which were purposely put on the shoes to prevent noticing the logo.
The attempt was uncovered when the container was scanned and irregularities where noticed by the officer on duty.
The officer insisted the container would undergo full physical examination where the customs realized the true nature of the cargo.
Customs directorate praised the investigation squad for their dedication which resulted in another foiled smuggling attempt.
