The organizing committee of "Agritech 2006" the leading Israeli international Agricultural exhibition said last week that the improved security situation in the region was having a positive effect on foreign visitors willing to attend the event.
"Agritech 2006" general manager Daniel Meiri noted that the number of foreign visitors confirming their participation has climbed. According to Meiri 30 agricultural ministers already confirmed their participation.
The organizers expect 6,000 visitors and added that the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute had set up a dedicated staff to promote the exhibition overseas and to deal with the visiting delegations during the event.
Meiri added that delegations from several countries would attend, including Argentina, Brazil, China, Denmark, Ethiopia, Italy, Romania, Spain, and the US.
Meiri also noted that under Ministry of Industry rules," Agritech 2006" has been officially recognized as Israel’s only international agricultural exhibition, thus the exhibition is eligible for Level A government aid. Ministries of Agriculture and Industry will each invest NIS 500,000 in the exhibition.
