The Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) reported last week that in 2005 industrial product rose by only 3.8%, after rising 6.6% in 2004, the CBS noted that in 2003 industrial product fell 0.3%, after rising 1.9 % in 2002 and 4.9% in 2001.
In its annual report the CBS noted that High-tech output, including electronics, avionics, and pharmaceuticals, rose in 2005 by 5.6%, after rising 14.6% in 2004. High-tech exports rose in 2005 by 5.5%.
In comparison, mixed high-tech output, including machinery, chemicals, electrical equipment, and vehicle equipment, rose in 2005 by 1.2%, after remaining unchanged in 2004.
However mixed low-technology output, including rubber and plastics, and basic metals and metal products, rose in 2005 by 5%.
Low technology output, including food and beverages, textiles and clothing, leather products, paper and printing, and wood products, rose in 2005 by 1.2%.
