Strike of the Israel Airports Authority workers Ended

Towards 4 p.m on Teusday, Feb. 7th, Israel Airpots Authority (IAA) worker’s strike ended. During the strike all loading and unloading of cargo on passenger’s planes which landed in Israel was terminated
 
As a result of the stike, which began Monday noon, there was no general and agricultural cargo leaving or coming on passenger’s plane, a fact which actually terminated the whole import/export structure on those planes.
 
Sanctions in Ben-Gurion airport became worse on Teusday morning with the termination of cargo shipment onto passenger planes, with import and export. It was expected that the strike will continue until Wednsday at midnight.
 
IAA published Teusday morning a response to the srtike: “The worker’s general committee decided to go on strike without advance notice and without any justification, and by doing so is hurting out customers. The Authority lives up to all the agreements that were signed with the worker’s committee, and it continues to work on managing norms which are legitimate in relation to human resource and salaries”.
 
Several ramifications:
 
Amir Shani, the chairman of the monitary board at the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, noted that only a few days passes since Mr. Ofer Eini, the Histadrut CEO, had visited the Commerce chambers for a special dinner at which he was the geust of honor and on which he gave a speech, saying that the working relations among the two institutes need to be done by communication, by general agreements and not by legislation. Eini said, reminds Mr. Shani, that a strike should be used only as a last weapon, words that decisivly contradict the conduct of the IAA’s workers, a conduct which resulted with a halt on the entire cargo shipment on passenger’s planes.
 
Shani added that besides a direct hit to cargo export and import, the strike has more ramofications such as:
Each and every unloaded cargo keeps on filling a spot at the MAMAN warehouse.
Each and every unloaded cargo causes a delay for the exportes.
Each and every unloaded cargo will beacome a bottleneck the minute the strike will be over.
