"Israir" intends to operate two weekly fights from Israel's Ben Gurion International Airport to Amman Queen Alia International Airpor
"Israir" Airlines and Tourism LTD received on 24th March 2011 permission from Israel Katz, Minister of Transport and Road Safety, to begin regular flights from Tel-Aviv to Amman, Jordan.
A press release issued by the company noted that at first, the airline intends to operate two weekly fights from Israel's Ben Gurion International Airport to Amman Queen Alia International Airport.
This new service will turn Jordan into a most attractive gateway, especially for Israeli tourists for whom Jordan can serve as the gate-way to the Far East, the first step on the way to locations such as Bangkok, New Delhi, Hong Kong and other cities.
In the year 2010 there were a total of about 115,000 passengers on Tel-Aviv - Amman flights.
