Low-cost Israir Airlines and Tourism Ltd. was granted last week by the Ministry of Transport a designated carrier status on the Tel Aviv to Milan Malpensa Airport (MXP), route. In a statement issued by the company it noted that it expects to receive additional designated carrier status to Berlin and Stuttgart Airports.
In a press release the company said that an evaluation was being carried out to co-operate, on a code share basis, with an Italian carrier on the Tel Aviv to Milan route.

Zohar Endelman, President and Chief Executive Officer Israir Airlines, expressed his gratitude to the government for granting the company with designated carrier status and noted that preparations were underway to begin the service as early as possible.
