Israel, U.S. open skies enters force

The Open Skies agreement was signed on December 1, 2010. The U.S.-Israel agreement will liberalize bilateral aviation relations as well as strengthening and expanding trade and tourism 
 
The U.S. Department of State and U.S. Department of Transportation announced last Tuesday that the open skies agreement between the United States and Israel entered into force as both countries’ governments completed an exchange of diplomatic notes.
 
The Open Skies agreement was signed on December 1, 2010. In a press release issued last Wednesday by the U.S. Department of Transportation it noted that “The agreement strengthens and expands our already strong trade and tourism links with Israel and will benefit American and Israeli businesses and travelers,”. “It will expand air service and encourage vigorous price competition by airlines, while safeguarding aviation safety and security.”
 
The U.S.-Israel agreement will liberalize bilateral aviation relations as well as strengthening and expanding trade and tourism links which will benefit American and Israeli businesses and travelers.
