The special Angola flight took off from Ben-Gurion International Airport with a group of Israeli businessmen on board
Israir Airlines & Tourism Ltd flew the first ever direct flight from Israel to Angola on Sunday, September 14.
In a statement issued by the company it noted that the flight, which is defined as a special flight, will be carried out by the company's Airbus A330. The Airbus A330 is a large-capacity, wide-body, twin-engine, medium-to-long-range commercial passenger airliner.
The special Angola flight took off from Ben-Gurion International Airport with a group of Israeli businessmen on board.
The return flight, on Monday, September 15, is slated to carry 275 Christian pilgrims who will tour the Holy Land for a week before going back home on September 23.
The flight will also bring Israeli businessmen in Angola back here for the Jewish High Holidays.
The idea to fly out businessmen and bring in pilgrims was initiated by the Jewish Agency for Israel and Genesis Tours.
