The decision IS due to demand from tourists and pilgrims who wish to combine trips to Israel with visits to neighboring countries
El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. Israel's flag carrier announced last Wednesday it was doubling the number of weekly flights between Tel Aviv and Cairo due to strong demand from tourists.
The airline currently has two weekly flights to Cairo. El Al said that beginning May 2, it will fly four flights a week to the Egyptian capital instead of two.
El Al CEO Haim Romano said that the decision to increase flights between Tel Aviv and Cairo was mainly due to demand from tourists and pilgrims who wish to combine trips to Israel with visits to neighboring countries. Romano noted that Egypt was a sought-after destination by tourists.
