El Al cancels U.S. flights at height of season

El Al has canceled several flights to the United States in July due to high fuel costs.
 
Even though this is peak tourism season, the airline canceled afternoon flights on its 011 route to New York, which it had added specially for the summer season.
 
In itsadvertising, El Al had bragged that it was adding flights to allow customers to fly to the U.S. at all hours: morning, noon and night.
 
The airline said the cancelation was due to high fuel costs that forced it to optimize and adjust its schedules accordingly.
