Israel’s Arkia airline inaugurated last week a direct air service between Israel to Georgia. On the inaugural flight Arkia’s Boing 757 flew the two and a half hours flight carrying 3 tons of cargo.
A spokesman for Arkia told a press conference that Messers A.D. Services a member of the FC ( Flying Cargo) group had been nominated to handle Arkia’s general cargo operations.
Mr. Roni Samocha director general of A.D Services told reporters that Arkia operates weekly services to Tibilisi and Tashkent and twice weekly service to Copenhagen as well as B757charter flights with 2-6 tons cargo capacity. The nomination of A.D. services to act as Arkia’s air cargo handler will better services to exporters and increase competition.
The inaugural flight to Tibilisi carried on board H.E. Mr. Ravez Gachechiladze, Georgia’s ambassador to Israel , Mr. Udi Zohar head of israel’s aviation authority, Rabbai Ariel Levin, Georgia’s Chief Rabbai and Professor Israel (izi) Borovitz, director general of Arkia.
