Mr. Dror Strum Antitrust Authority director general approved last week the sale of Knafaim – Arkia Holding's in Maman Cargo Terminals and Handlings to Golden Point. Golden Point is a highly diversified private holding company in bank financing and foreign trade risk insurance.
Its owners also have holdings in real estate, fuel, food, international delivery services, and international freight forwarding (ICL - Israeli Cargo Logistics). Strum noted in his decision that, although Golden Point and Maman dealt in activities that followed each other in the air delivery supply chain, the purchase raises no threat of vertical competition.
Maman, according to the Antitrust Authority is forbidden, by its license, to discriminate between customers, and Golden Point's subsidiary ICL has many competitors, while its market share is rather insignificant.
