Terminal 1 at Ben Gurion Airport Resumes Operations Following Upgrades

Israel's Airport Authority announces the reopening of Terminal 1 at Ben Gurion Airport for domestic and international flights, following maintenance and upgrade works.

The Airport Authority has announced the resumption of operations at Terminal 1, following maintenance and upgrade works. The terminal will open for domestic flights in the last week of March and for international operations at the end of the month.

According to the Airport Authority's data, over 1,377 flights are expected to depart from Terminal 1 in April, with the volume of passengers expected to constitute about a quarter of all departures from Ben Gurion Airport.

In the initial phase, Israeli and international airlines will operate from the terminal, including: El Al with over 80 weekly flights, Arkia with about 40 weekly flights, Israir with over 30 weekly flights, Wizz Air with about 110 weekly flights to 19 destinations, and Ryanair with 86 weekly flights to 22 destinations. EasyJet is expected to resume its flights to Israel in June.

The operation of airlines from Terminal 1 will allow passengers direct access to dozens of popular destinations, including Sofia, Budapest, Bucharest, Berlin, Rome, Athens, Rhodes, Warsaw, Vienna, and more.

In light of the terminal's reopening and the expected significant increase in passenger traffic ahead of Passover, the Airport Authority has completed the recruitment of dozens of security and operations staff, and continues its recruitment campaign, offering improved conditions.
