The Israel Airports Authority is finalizing preparations for the opening of Terminal 1 at the end of the month, and for the expected increase in passenger traffic during Passover. In the past month, the Authority has completed the recruitment of dozens of security and operations personnel in various fields and is in the process of recruiting and training additional employees.

Among other things, last week saw the commencement of training courses for security personnel, including armed guards and security inspectors, as well as courses for sorting, loading, in-flight services, equipment operators, and intelligence department employees in the passenger service division. Additional courses in various fields are planned to open in the coming weeks.

Simultaneously, the Authority has completed a series of training and refresher courses for dozens of veteran employees who started their careers in the Authority's security division and over the years have advanced to various management positions in the organization. These employees will bolster the armed security at Ben Gurion Airport during the Passover holiday.

In addition, the Israel Airports Authority is in the midst of a recruitment process for security personnel for the Magen unit - the unit responsible for the armed security system throughout Ben Gurion Airport, including patrols in 4x4 vehicles throughout the airport and along the perimeter fences, securing the entrance gates to the airport, armed security outside the terminals, and more.

The recruitment is intended for combatants who have served at least two years in field units, including infantry, armor, artillery, engineering, intelligence units, border police, paratroopers, Jordan Lions, Sting, and rescue and recovery. Admission requirements for the prestigious course include good health, and passing suitability and high physical fitness tests. Upon completion of the recruitment and sorting process, the Authority will open a dedicated course for these combatants. For suitable candidates, the Authority offers particularly good working conditions, participation in tuition fees, transportation, gym reimbursement, meals, clothing, promotion opportunities within the organization, and more. The work is also suitable for students and allows flexibility in shifts.
