Israir Airlines has finalized a deal this morning to purchase an Airbus 320, adding to the company's fleet. The $22 million deal was completed according to stock exchange reports released this morning. The newly acquired aircraft will be operational by the end of March.
As previously reported, about a month ago, Israir Airlines signed a deal to purchase a new AIRBUS 320-200. With the completion of this deal, Israir's fleet will consist of five self-owned aircraft worth a total of approximately $100 million. It should be noted that in the past 12 months, the company has completed the purchase of three aircraft with a total value of about $60 million.
These moves are part of the company's strategy to expand its operations, including new flight destinations that the company intends to operate.
Uri Sirkis, CEO of Israir, said: "Israir is showing consistent growth in passenger traffic. In 2023, despite the fourth quarter in which the war broke out, we flew about one million passengers. In 2024, we flew about one and a half million passengers, and our work plan for 2025 is adapted to about 1.8 million passengers in international operations. With technologies like Quick Lizard, Altea, and the new website, and with the aircraft we purchased, we will do it."
